About
Bio/Description

Kristjan Arnarsson is from New Haven, CT, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Yale University. While at Yale, Kristjan worked on hydrogels for diabetic wound healing with Professor Themis Kyriakides and blood flow studies for peripheral vascular disease with Professor Albert Sinusas. Now, his research interests have shifted towards transport phenomena and nonequilibrium statistical mechanics in heterogeneous media, although he is willing to tackle any problem that involves interesting and challenging mathematics. Currently, he is investigating the effect of thermal fluctuations on ion transport in nanoporous materials. In his free time, Kristjan can be found playing videogames with his friends (typically Smash Bros.), hiking (especially in Iceland), and skiing (at every possible opportunity).
